The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official notification for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main 2026).
This national-level exam is conducted for admission into B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Plan courses offered by NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other recognized institutions across India.

JEE Main also serves as the eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to the IITs.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2026 –

1. Age Limit

There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main 2026.
Candidates who passed Class 12/equivalent exam in 2024, 2025 or are appearing in 2026 can apply.

(However, candidates must check the age criteria of the specific institution they wish to join.)

2. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

  • Passed Class 12/equivalent in 2024 or 2025, or
  • Appearing in Class 12/equivalent in 2026.

❌ Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2023 or earlier are not eligible.

3. State of Eligibility

The state code of eligibility is based on the state from where the candidate passed Class 12, not their place of residence.

Example: If a student studied in Delhi but lives in Noida (UP), their state code of eligibility will be Delhi, not Uttar Pradesh.

  2. Click on “Apply for JEE Main 2026”.
  3. Register using a valid Email ID and Mobile Number.
  4. Fill in all required details – personal, academic, and contact info.
  5. Upload scanned documents –
    • Photograph
    • Signature
    • Category Certificate (if applicable)
  6. Pay the application fee online.
  7. Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
