CBSE CTET Notification 2026 – Apply Online for CTET February 2026 –
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has release the official notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), February 2026 on its official website.
The CTET 2026 examination will be conducted on 08 February 2026 across all over india 132 cities in the country and will be held in 20 different languages. Candidates who wish to build their career as a school teacher must appear and qualify in the CTET examination.

Who Can Apply for CTET?
Candidates who want to work as:
- Primary Teacher (Class I–V)
- Upper Primary Teacher (Class VI–VIII)
Educational Qualification (Briefly)
For Classes I–V
- 12th pass with D.El.Ed / B.El.Ed
- OR Graduation with B.Ed
Candidates applying for CTET Primary Level (Class I to V) must have any one of the following qualifications:
- Passed Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Passed Senior Secondary (10+2) with 45% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), as per NCTE regulations.
- Passed Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Passed Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed degree from an NCTE-recognized institution.
Candidates appointed through this qualification must complete a 6-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within 2 years of appointment.
For Classes VI–VIII
- Graduation with D.El.Ed
- OR Graduation with B.Ed
- OR 12th pass with B.A/B.Sc.Ed
Candidates applying for CTET Upper Primary Level (Class VI to VIII) must have any one of the following qualifications:
- Graduation and completed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and completed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed, as per NCTE norms.
- Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (10+2) with 50% marks and completed or appearing in the final year of 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and completed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).
- Candidates who have qualified B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution are also eligible to apply for CTET/TET. Candidates pursuing NCTE or RCI recognized teacher education courses are also allowed to appear as per existing guidelines.
