The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has announced a recruitment drive for 10 Professor posts in Government Nursing Colleges of Assam.
The recruitment is for eligible candidates having M.Sc. (Nursing) qualification and the required teaching experience. The selected candidates will be engaged on a contractual basis with a monthly salary of ₹95,000.

DME Assam Recruitment 2026 – Salary
Selected candidates for the Professor post will receive:
₹95,000/- per month
The post will be engaged on a contractual basis.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Professor post must have:
- M.Sc. (Nursing) degree.
- A total of 12 years of experience with M.Sc. Nursing.
- Out of this, candidates should have 10 years of teaching experience after obtaining M.Sc. (Nursing).
- Ph.D. in Nursing is desirable.
Professional Registration
Candidates must also:
- Be registered under the Assam Nurses’ Midwives and Health Visitors’ Council.
- Have a valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate of Assam.
Age Limit
The candidate’s age should not be more than 50 years as on 1 January 2026.
